Rebekah Heppner, founder of Social Venture Partners Tampa Bay (SVPTB), along with two of their founding partners, will share their goals and progress to date. SVPTB was founded in January 2014, joining a global network now in 40 cities in nine countries, engaging over 3,500 individual philanthropists. SVPTB partners pool their funds and together make multi-year, unrestricted gifts to carefully vetted nonprofit investees. Partners also contribute their business and professional expertise to the nonprofits, all with the goal of strengthening the nonprofit and increasing its impact. Core to this work is the opportunity for partners to learn about social issues and strategic philanthropy. SVPTB operates as a fund within the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and its work is overseen by an Advisory Committee of seven partners.
